Tonight begins the first night of Chanukah, which also happens to be Christmas Eve, for some other folks. It also began right after shabbat ended, so it was a race to get latkes made…they are, after all, one of the easiest things to get done in sort of a hurry.
I’m not sure how or when or where I acquired this recipe, but it’s fantastic, and makes great holiday gifts. Best of all, it’s pretty easy; you don’t even need a candy thermometer! I especially love mine with cashews and pecans, but don’t feel obligated to add nuts at all… It’s just as addictive plain. Continue reading
It’s not a “noodle latke,” guys, it’s called, “chow mein,” and we Chinese folks have been making it for a while now, even outside of Chanukah. You can be sure I’ll be making some on the first night, though!
