If you love tacos as much as I do, try these! I developed this recipe because, living in a kosher community in New York, it’s been hard to find what I consider a “real” taco. I make mine from a cheaper, but well marbled shoulder cut of beef, such as a shoulder roast, French roast, or Chuck steak, and slowly braise it until it’s tender and full of flavor. I can’t speak to how authentic these are, but everybody seems to like them. This is the first time I’ve ever written this recipe down (up until now, it’s been something i throw together without measuring), so I may alter it a bit later here and there in an attempt to more closely approximate what I do.
This is our go to recipe for weekend breakfasts, since it takes so little time to put together and is so easily customizable. Maxtrid like them with mini chocolate chips, while Cadence likes them with Nutella. We all like them with some nice butter and real maple syrup. Bananas, nuts, blueberries, and macerated strawberries are other great choices to either mix in or put on top. However you like your pancakes, give it a try! The wheat germ adds a nice, sweet nuttiness to these pancakes.
